What factors can affect the surface roughness of lathe parts
What are the factors that affect the surface roughness of parts processed by large CNC lathes?
1. Geometric factors: From the geometric perspective of surface roughness, the shape and geometric Angle of the tool, especially the radius of the tool tip, the main deflection Angle, the auxiliary deflection Angle and the feed in the cutting parameters have a great influence on the surface roughness.
2. Physical factors: From the physical nature of large CNC lathe processing, the cutting edge fillet and the extrusion and friction behind the tool make metal materials plastic deformation, which seriously worsens the surface roughness. When the plastic material is processed by large CNC lathe, the chip nodules with high hardness are easy to form on the front tool surface. It can replace the front cutting surface and cutting edge for cutting, so that the geometric Angle of the tool, the amount of back cutting can change. The outline of the chip nodules is very irregular, so that the surface of the workpiece is constantly changing the depth and width of the cut. Some chip nodules are embedded in the workpiece surface, which increases the surface roughness. Vibration is generated during cutting, which increases the surface roughness parameter value of workpiece.
3. Processing factors: from the perspective of large CNC lathe processing technology to consider its impact on the surface roughness of the workpiece, mainly related to the cutting tool factors, factors related to the material of the workpiece and factors related to CNC processing conditions, etc.
